Peggy Palzkill--

We have an exciting, varied lineup of workshops for this year. They are geared for quilters of all levels. A beginner will not be lost, and an advanced quilter will learn or refresh a new technique and pick up (or contribute) tips. Everyone will talk, laugh and sew in an atmosphere of fellowship.  We have 8 Wednesday workshops the day after the night meetings, and 3 Saturday sessions this year. I ask every member to support our programs and workshops and make suggestions for future speakers and topics.

All of the workshops are at cost, which is generally $35.00 for members and some have a pattern or supply fee in addition to the workshop fee. I look forward to seeing you there!

Artful Log Cabins (line and grid)
Katie Pasquini Masopust

The log cabin block is so very versatile; we will use that as the basis for creating linear abstract art quilts.  Start with a painting or photograph, crop that to a strong personal composition, overlay a grid, this can be an even grid, an uneven grid, curved or random grid, this linear drawing is laid over the inspiration photo or painting to become the map.  Then log cabins made up of the colors found in each unit of the grid will be constructed and then put together to make the quilt.  Emphasis on composition, variety, color, value and visual pathways.

Please join us for a day of fun and creativity!

Scrappy Applique - Simple, Flexible, Fun

Learn how to take tiny scraps of fabric and turn them into gorgeous appliqué pieces using Shannon’s signature technique– Scrappy Appliqué. It is quick and simple to pick up, yet allows for a lot of creative possibilities. It is a perfect workshop for quilters at a variety of skill levels. Shannon has had students who are brand new to quilting and have been terrified to try appliqué, and students who have been hand appliquéing for 30+ year. They all have a ball and learn a lot in the class.

Since the Scrappy Appliqué process is the same despite the template chosen, each student chooses their favorite template/pattern, and we go through the whole process together. Every student's project is totally unique, and it is so much fun to see what everyone creates!
